Public transport concessions for Victorian Seniors
In 2006 the Victorian Government announced a number of changes to the way Victorian Seniors Card holders can use public transport. The changes included:
- the introduction of a Seniors Sunday Pass
- greater access to Concession fares on V/Line train and coach services
and - the issuing of two Off-Peak Travel Vouchers.
The Seniors Sunday Pass entitles a Victorian Seniors Card holder to free travel on metropolitan trains, trams and buses in Zones 1 and 2 on Sundays. It is also valid for free travel on the town bus networks of major regional cities, such as Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong on Sundays. However, it cannot be used for travel to and from Melbourne, Ballarat, Bendigo or Geelong.
Victorian Seniors Card holders can apply for a Seniors Sunday Pass at any premium or staffed railway station, staffed V/Line station or The MetShop, on weekdays between 9.30am – 3pm.
Victorian Seniors Card holders can also access Concession fares on V/Line train and coach services at all times.
